Description

NGC6188; aka Rim nebula; aka The Fighting Dragons of Arca (HOO)My very fave Southern Hemisphere target!!!My very first LRGB post processing, very first 20 hrs of dark site data, acquired from Deep Sky West observatory in Chile. So, as some of you know by now, 6 months in this life changing hobby, almost a year ago, I was diagnosed with a rare form of Lupus which attacks bones and joints, that caused Osteoporosis, which made me sell off my EQ6R Pro mount and my 11" astrograph Newt. I even had to sell my 9.25" Edge HD .. all with loss. However, my passion for this hobby kept growing and as a computer engineer I loved the post processing phase of the overall process. Recently, if it wasn't for my wife, my Judy, I would have dropped my Triplet apo one night after 2am. That made me thinking, and I decided to try these remote observatories, and honestly, it's expensive, but it's the most fun I've had in 1.5 years of being an amateur astro photographer. thanks for reading.. clear skies world!!!

24 x 900sec Luminance
24 x 900sec Red
14 x 900sec Green
19 x 900sec Blue

I got the raw LRGB FITS data, 900sec light subs, darks and flats, that I processed to create the final image. Stacked, integrated and post processed in Pixinsight with new LRGB techniques and workflow. Final touches in Paintshop Pro for clarity, vibrancy and white balance temps.
